Default Shooting near 12th and washington?

i'm sitting in my living room enjoying a movie and wondering if those were gunshots I heard or fireworks. I'm only asking because fireworks typically don't end with overhead police surveillance of the area. This literally happened about fifteen minutes ago.

I'm pretty sure it's fireworks. I also noted the helicopter but it didn't stick around long so I don't think it was anything malicious.

We've been sitting outside all night on the 1100 block of Christian and all we've heard were tons and tons of fireworks. We heard the chopper but it seemed to only hover for a minute but there were absolutely no police sirens (or cars for that matter). We didn't see the helicopter so I couldn't tell you if it was police, news or hospital, it left too quickly.

I'm inclined to think that some of the pops were shots although a number were fireworks. I was leaning out my window watching the helicopter shine it's light on the corner of 12th and Ellsworth. Then all of a sudden, this dirt bike turned off 12th street and went tearing down Ellsworth towards 11th. The helicopter's light locked on it and followed it down what looked like 11th and then turn and head over towards point breeze. There was a cop car not far behind (2 blocks) the dirt bike.

FIREWORKS.
HOLIDAY.
SOUTH PHILLY.

Oh wait, that's not an easy enough answer. OK, I've got it. I bet a mexican cartel mugged a fireworks dealer who was smoking. The gentleman, who was actually a woman going through a sex change, accidently lit his/her inventory when he/she dropped his/her cigarette as the cartel began shooting since the fireworks dealer failed to understand their spanish commands!!!

Mystery solved. Everyone can live a little easier now.

If i had to pick anyone on PB in which to have a 3-way with, it would be towelie and jedi. seriously.

I know you're new here, but depictions of people being plowed in the a$$ belong in the political forum

beats me. I've lived in this city all of my life and never had an issue with people setting off fireworks on holidays.
