A few years ago, I went with a friend to a place on S. 11th St., somewhere between Fitzwater and Washington (i think) She stopped in to pick up some meat for a barbecue we were having. I believe they sold all different size meat "packages" consisting of hamburgers etc. I know she had called ahead and ordered it.
Does anyone know the name of this place, or have any other info about it? It was on the east side of the street. Cheers! |

On 11th?? I don't recall a butcher on 11th street in my lifetime. Bread, spices, beer, a little grocer.....no, sorry.

Hmmm. Weird. Now that I think about it more...it did not really look like a butcher inside. There was no deli case with meat on display or anything like that. When you walked in, there was a pick up counter. I'll have to take a stroll down there. I tried to figure out the name awhile back, and I think it was a person's name. Thanks anyway.

Well asiamommi, not that I did not believe you...but I guess you are right. I took a stroll down 11th from South to whatever cross street that Wine & Spirits store near. Federal maybe?
All I saw was Ricci's and Tennyson Sobers Catering. I'm just so baffled! My friend just confirmed that the place she went was on 11th. This will drive me mad!! |

What you are talking about with the meat packages and such sounds like what many of the butchers do on 9th street. They might have the Freezer Package, or the Breakfast Package, or BBQ Package.
