Default Surprise Birthday party

So, I am throwing a party for my wife for her birthday this year and wanted to know where everyone thought a great place for dinner would be for a party of about 12 or so. I would prefer private dining space, but not mandatory and I also would like it to be a BYO, to save on cost. I have reservations out at several places, but since I just to BV, last year I wanted everyone's thoughts. Doesn't really have to be in BV, but would like to contain it to CC. All thoughts and opinions welcome.

I'd suggest Little Fish, Salt & Pepper, or Cochon. All have great menu's, and intimate settings which would be ideal for your party size.

Surprise party? You better hope that she doesn't check PB between now and then ...

Fortunately, she doesn't do the whole message board thing.

that makes it a little rough. Honestly, I'd try to just type in your requirements onto opentable.com, see what comes up and make your decision from there.

My favorite byo in the neighborhood is ava. It doesn't have a private room, but does have an area towards the back that I've had a dozen or so people before. Very nice people and a great simple menu that is always well prepared.

As the typed word can sometimes be without emotion, I say this respectfully and without judgement; I'm rather hesitant to recommend my favorites as I'm not a fan of making reservations at several places only to hold the spot just-in-case. The restaurant business is tough, and a dozen empty seats due to a canceled reservation on a saturday night can be a hit for even a busy restaurant.

I suggest you make up your mind and release those reservations.

A party of 12 can be a HUGE deal for a small restaurant and the staff (who may rely on tips) and other people who may wish to dine that evening.
Maybe even someone reading this thread could be bumped.
