Not really
In a 40 seat restaurant you are holding MORE than 1/3 of the seating.
A large party is blocked out for longer than a small one. They may bring in extra staff. It will be June. There are graduations and weddings. And many June anniversaries. Etc ...Etc ... This is very rude to someone else who may wish to celebrate that evening. The restaurant they prefer may be one you give up last minute What is so hard about making a choice. Even to your own party, it would be nice to know where they will dine.

Rest assured all previously booked/un-needed reservations have now been cancelled. Feel free to re-book away since I was taking up all the spots in the city for that weekend.
