Meredith Mixer 2008
With apologies for the belated post, I wanted to be sure and let everyone know that about the third annual Meredith Mixer, a silent auction fund raiser for the William Meredith elementary school at 5th & Fitzwater. Come on out...everyone is invited (you don't have to have a child at Meredith to attend - just a desire to support a great neighborhood public school and to have a good time).
The 2008 Meredith Mixer Proceeds benefit the Meredith School Arts Fund Dollars for Dance! Saturday, May 17th from 7-11pm Fleisher Art Memorial, 719 Catharine Street Free Parking in Their Lot Tickets are $15 at the door. Over 150 great silent auction items! I went to this school in 1971-1973. It was a real zoo back then. But then again the whole neighborhood was a zoo in those days. I saw a guy get murdered as I was leaving school one day. He came out of the old BLACK SCORPIO LOUNGE another guy came out behind him an shot him in the back. The man managed to make it around the corner of Monroe St and died calling for his mother.

It's a great place now, and has been for some time. When you walk down its halls you think to yourself, "Now this is how a public school should look and feel." We consider ourselves very lucky.
Come on out tonight! The Mixer is a lot of fun. Besides the silent auction, there's food & drinks and the really distinctive interior of the Fleisher Art Memorial to enjoy.
