Anyone know when the start time of the Johnny Marz Halfball Tournament?
I have an e-mail out to the organizers trying to find out. I'd love to watch some halfball! I imagine that it would go on most of the day since it is a tournament, but if I hear anything I'll get back to you.

further, I walk around south philadelphia and hear sinatra, martin, and the godfather theme blaring from various windows quite a bit more than is warranted and i find it silly, cliched, stereotypical, repetitive, and slightly embarrassing.

however, we all know what they say about opinions....and now we got two on this board!
are you embarrassed of fresh pastry and handmade pasta? that's stereotypical Italian. would it be less embarrassing or stereotypical if people were blasting rap music?

no

that seems to be two questions:
the impact to embarrassment would be dependent on the specific music (eg: El-P less embarassing, P Diddy more embarrassing), and also the volume and other factors.
yes, it would be less stereotypical for a pastry or past shop to blast rap

questions answered, is that at all helpful???

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll be sure to turn it up a little extra when I see a man running at me with a sauasage in his hand... that is, if Alesis doesn't get it from you before you get to me!
And no, I'm not Elvis with the kiddie dancers, although I do remember seeing them before, and it's kinda creepy.
Just remember, I'm up for bribery, you wanna hear a specific Sinatra or Dean song, Sauasages, Canollis, and especially draft beers from the 12 steps outdoor bar setup, are ALWAYS welcome! I'm gonna go start downloading some of those other suggestions, thanks again.
-signs off to the sounds of the Sopranos theme song... Woke up this morning......

Edited to add: Here is the info for the Johnny Marz halfball tourney... http://www.9thstreetitalianmarketfes.../Halfball.html

Hmm... as much as I'd love to, I think Mr. Sarcone wouldn't like me so much. BUT when I start working at the Dive again on the occasional Friday nights, I WILL play that for you, as my theme there is usually 80's-90's rock\punk

With the whole food theme, maybe we could get them to play on the main stage next year...

I went to that page and they have all the other info, but not the time it starts. Luckily, the nice people from the site responded to my e-mail about the start time. I quote:

Quote:
We start at 10:00 AM each day. Play should last through the day but the end time will depend on the amount of teams that sign up.
So there you go.

See you all tomorrow!
