Mario Lanza Park. Shady and green (Shot Tower has a fun playground, but it has no shade). We take our toddler to the dog park to watch the dogs play and the owners are invariably friendly and welcoming.
On Tuesdays, in June, they have a kids fest. This week was "firetruck night." Tons of kids swarming over a fire truck; incredibly friendly firefighters; and, best of all, they turned on the faucets and the kids had a blast. And, in October, they host a Halloween event - so much fun to see all the little ones dressed up for trick or treating. Actually, Halloween in Queen Village is great - some many folks out on their steps, giving out treats. |

The word faucet doesn't do it justice. They turned on some giant water blaster on the top of the fire truck. The water shot up, full blast, into the air maybe 40 feet then rained down on the kids. They were screaming and running around and having such fun. We couldn't break our 2 year old away!

My shill goes to ZenLab between 7th and 8th. Chill, groovy-ambient music playing, and Roberto (the man behind the bar) is always pleasant to talk to. I've spent a few nights sitting and sipping tea (of which there are multiple choices) and chatting.
My fav drink there is a hot ginger bubble tea in the colder months - it'll cure everything except a broken heart. Go in to check your email, and enjoy a cup of tea while you do so. |

If i had to pick anyone on PB in which to have a 3-way with, it would be towelie and jedi. seriously. I know you're new here, but depictions of people being plowed in the a$$ belong in the political forum |

the bartenders are the nicest guys ever. karaoke on fridays, when the bartender sings Don't Stop Believin and everyone joins in...seriously, i don't think anything makes me love my neighborhood more than that. other shills... Rene at the Rim Cafe... Sam at Golden Empress... any of the pho places on washington ave... bloody marys on a sunday morning at the Royal... sweet potato fries & blue moons at the new wave... bare feet shoes & unica footwear. (on weekday nights - less strollers and screaming babies) palumbo park... trattoria costiera... the headhouse farmer's market... and of course, the italian market. |

Can't remember the name, but for Mexican, there is a place on the East Side of 9th Street (north of Geno's and south of Washington) that is fantastic. It is a hole-in-the-wall taqueria. It may be too hot in the 90+ degree humid Philly summers, but the food is great- very authentic This is the same place that does the farmer's market at Head House Square on Sundays. Try the Alahambre sp. It is like a Fahita, but a million times better. Absolutely delicious.
