OK... now THATS IT

(for now)

I will forget this between now and next week--please make a new thread in advance of this event. I want to listen.

asg, is the BYOB on 3rd St. Hostaria da Elio? Because I agree, it's a nice little place with a friendly owner. And they have a nice garden for dining alfresco in the back.

ah, thanks, for the reminder, hostario de elio has been one of our go-to spots since moving to the neighborhood. its our favorite cheap italian spot, and, as you say, the back yard is great in the summer (shares a deck with Gayle so you can pretend its more upscale)

What are the prices like? Its the only neighborhood restaurant I've never been into...strangely enough, my wife and I tried to go last night but they were already closed so we went to Jon's instead.

pretty inexpensive (sorry, mind like a sieve so i wont remember actual prices) and, of course, BYO which means you get out of there for like $50-$60 for the two of you
i think
always have numerous specials, so many times you dont even need to crack the menu open.

glad someone brought this up....i want to get back there soon....however with the new baby dining out is a bit different than the old days as we need a sitter and its more like destination dining when we actually do go out
sigh

For as good as I (and everyone I've gone with) thinks the food is, the place is never, ever crowded! Not even on a Saturday night, you can always get a table. (not sure if that is a good or bad sign!) The takeout is quick, too.

Anybody else care to share their opinion of this place?
We ate there once, I thought it was decent. Not anything to rave about, but I cant think of a reason to not go back if I am in the neighborhood and want some Thai

i'll also shout out to Matt at Ground Zero South who's been fixing my head since i moved here.

additionally, you all know i have shilled for Slice dozens of times here and, while i could order there every week, mrs nipsey likes to mix it up with "normal" pizza occasionally and Mack's Boardwalk (or something like that) has recently been fulfilling our normal pizza needs admirably (and then there was the time the Slice guys caught me accepting a Mack's pizza at my door and there were some mock words exchanged....i felt like i had been caught cheating!)
