Generally parking in the vicinty of the QVNA lot isn't like sardines in the day or late afternoon. Street spots tend to be open until after 7 pm and then it gets harder to find a spot. For cars without a parking sticker you basically just need to look at the signs, during the day you have a two hour limit (from the time PPA notices your vehicle) and depending on what day of the week, that limit may be enforced 8 am - 8 pm and other days till midnight. They don't enforce a parking limit on Sunday. There are some streets 2nd past Queen and around Old Swede's Church that are open parking anytime. Like I said, just watch the signs.

Come on, tell me with a straight face that you don't have "residents" that have lived on your street for years without registering their car in PA. It's a nuisance, and you either know it, or partake in it. maybe both. If you don't like my posts I'd suggest putting me on your ignore list. It won't hurt my feelings. |

If they live on your street what do you care if they park there and register elswehere? It's not like they're storing their car here and liviing elsewhere. that's a whole different subject. It seems like you're getting riled up for being in someone else's business.

Well..you guys seem like a colorful bunch
![]() thanks for the input. I actually plan on renting a parking spot, so don't worry, I don't intend on being one of those clogger uppers who takes all the street spots...I don't have the patience for that anyways. i'm also hoping to get involved with soccer...i checked out bella vista futbol club, but looks like they might not be having open season yet. i dance too (hip hop), but i couldn't find any studios where i could practice so i joined PSC (where i have free reign of their studios, muahahaha!!!) any fellow futbollers/dancers in the 'hood? ![]() |

It's the law, and if residency laws were actually enforced parking wouldn't be such an issue. http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/new_resid..._license.shtml |

To live in Philadelphia and not register your car in the city poses a couple problems that are rampant in this city.
Anyone who is not registering his/her car in Philadelphia is accomplishing 2 things: 1. Evading the city wage tax. If everyone that lived here followed the law and claimed residency and paid the taxes that are due as a result of being a resident, perhaps it would be much easier for our new mayor to accelerate the rate at which the wage tax goes down. Pay your share. It's only fair and what you are legally required to do. 2. Insurance fraud - It is illegal to claim to live in an address other than the address where you in fact live. My final point is this - There are too many out-of-state license plates in QV (and perhaps in the city in general?) that are registered in other states that have PHILADELPHIA RESIDENT PARKING stickers and it burns me up. Is someone at the PPA selling stickers on the side? Whenever I go to renew my resident parking sticker, it takes an act of god because I have a PO box, and the a-holes that provide "customer service" at the parking permit window give me a hard time. My registration and license have both my PO box and my street address, but they still try to fight with me. So how are these out-of-town tax evaders and insurance fraud committers getting stickers? I smell a rat at the PPA. |

I have a different problem. I own a home in Queen Village & only stay there a couple of nights a month. My legal residence is not the city. So I own a home & I can't park in front of it?????? I do rent a spot at the QVNA lot. My plate is PA not NJ. I love the neighborhood but I should be able to park on the street since I own the home, pay the taxes & don't rent it out!
