Default The Irish Times is a really cool place!

I just moved to Queen Village from University City and I stopped in the Irish Times at 2nd and Bainbridge this past Monday night. I felt so welcomed by the bartender, and the atmosphere was very cozy. The bartender was not only an excellent drink pourer, but she was also very easy on the eyes and a great conversationalist! I plan to go back often.

How many free drinks did they give you to post that here?

Does someone have to get free drinks to make a recommendation or give some good comments about a place?

I have not yet been there but have heard a few good comments about the place. I was interested in possibly checking out their 'Irish' breakfasts in a few weeks.

Anyone had any of the food there?

The food is amazing, the place and service is great, and the shills forget that IP addresses are logged on phillyblog.

I think that's about 4 or 5 new names so far that have popped up and give kudos to Irish Times then disappear into the night.

The other important question: will they have a TV tuned into the Flyers game tonight?

My point exactly. I am all up for honest reviews and thoughts about a specific place, but we have had a run of unabashed love for the place, and I too like it. Lets just call a spade, a spade. I dig the place too and think that it is great that they are beginning to make a repuation for themselves, but enough is enough.

K - I hadn't noticed the Irish Times self promoting love fest, but then again I wasn't looking for it.

So bottom line it's worth giving a try, even though they are trying a bit too hard with the Phillyblog audience?

hehe...last week the south street construction crews knocked out cable to a couple of bars. I've never seen so many ticked off people in my life! Luckily comcast got out and fixed the problem before the game began.

I've been to Irish Times several times and the food is usually pretty good and consistent. The homemade and warm potato chips are a nice treat.

I do wonder if they'll have the Flyers game on or a replay of a soccer game. I've been in there on a Monday night during american football season and not able to watch it due to the televisions showing day old replays of a soccer match I watched the afternoon before.
