I was here a couple of times, the food at best is aveage, A real problem is trying to get to the restroom from the lower level I had to squeez through 20 people at the small upper bar. They really need a lower restroom.

I hear what you guys are saying about "fake" blogs but really I loved the Irish Times. I went back though, just last night, and although they had the Flyers on every TV(which was a good thing to me), the Irish Stew I got was cold. Hopefully, it was just a one-time thing...

How did "every TV" have the Flyers on "last night" when there was no game saturday? Sounds like someone's confused on what day they posted-maybe because they just got off of a late night bartending shift?

This is getting really old, and really makes me not want to go there. Whoever is putting on for this place obviously means well, but in my opinion is only doing a disservice to the establishment. I wonder if the owners/managers know of this?

I almost went LAST NIGHT (ya know, Sunday...when they actually played), drove by and everything, noticed they had a big Flyers poster in the window, so figured it may actually be a good spot to watch. BUT couldn't find parking in the 10 minute span I gave myself, so I ended up flying down to the ole Philadium, which was suprisingly empty- even with Chickie's and Pete's across the street, they still usually have a good sized crowd for a sporting event. I didn't mind, still an ok size crowd, all into the game, and man do I love the cheesesteaks there! But damn it, I WILL get to Irish Times, I keep promising myself I'll get to it eventually.

I went to the Irish Times once about 2 or 3 weeks after it opened with my wife and a couple of friends. We all disliked our food and the service was Terrible. Perhaps the food and service are better now, but I had a terrible experience there.
I went to Paddywhacks (sp) once about a month or so ago and found it to be pretty decent. |

i registered to talk praise about the irish times. the food was good and the service was excellent. i just wanted to give them a bit of help since paddywacks was opening down the street and it would have been a tragedy to lose the irish times because of that place. |

Look, Irish Times cannot be confused with a 3 or 4 Bell restaurant, but the food is way above average for a bar, some Irish/British specialties, prices reasonable, and the atmosphere homey and pleasant.
They are in a difficult corner location on 2nd and Bainbridge, and I would love to see them make it. Yeah, lots of international soccer and rugby on the telly, but they have four flat screens, and I had no problem getting them to put on the Phillies game. Great Wi-fi connection to boot. Again, I'm writing a prejudiced review here -- they are around the corner from me, I personally like the place, and want to see them make it by getting the community support they deserve. |
