i have been known to turn a blind eye to the occasional apparent shill by gayle based on an affection for the business....but until i can personally vouch for the quality at irish spring, you know what nipsey's serving back at 'em:

wait - is that spam being served with radishes and jello on noodles with some parsley???
mmmmmmmmmmmmm.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!! wtf? proves the point that the further back in time you go, the dumber people were. if monday dinner was spam/radish/jello/noodle/garnish night, what the hell was for dinner on tuesday??? rat poop and pencil erasers?? ps: if thats whats for dinner, why spend all that time carving the radishes??? i cant stop looking at it, every time i glance back i notice something more aweful if my mom had put that on my dinner table, i would have punched her pps: sorry, now i realize that is lunch, not dinner as i ranted above. thats fine then.

But what I need to know is where to go, watch the Flyers game, and eat something. Help! Dark Horse or Irish Times?

I am all for promoting a place that you love.... but I can't remember how many times a new member registered and made their first AND ONLY post a glowing review of The Irish Times. Its just so blatant as to be counterproductive. It makes me NOT want to try a place....
Let your food, drinks, service and character speak for itself. Pay for advertising, and hope that the above elements result in word of mouth. |

And I am open to other suggestions in the neighborhood.

It's hard to recommend a good place for both dinner and the Flyers game. I often feel like we are missing a really good and lively bar with above average food.
I say dinner at Southwark or Irish Times; beers and Flyers at O'neal's if you can handle the weekend crowd. They usually have a good Flyers environment for the games. |
