Hey, man. Think of the epileptics. Doesn't anyone think about the epileptics anymore?!

'Strobe' lights are not an art commission issue. You'll find this addressed in the zoning code under signage. Its broadly written, but I imagine its trying to prohibit flashing 'Girls, Girls, Girls' type signage or the crazy neon chicken sign that kept Cosmo Kramer awake at night. I do recall, however, that the restaurant that preceded El Vez had small led lights embedded in the sidewalk.

Yeah Trust was nifty. I thought the little lights were still in the sidewalk after the El Vez arose but just never used? Maybe not ...

Was the best bathroom in town.

What about permiable rubber sidewalks?

Actually, brick sidewalks are in the long run cheaper than those done in concrete. Small sections can be repaired as needed. The additional joints that brick sidewalks have compared to concrete actually reduce water runoff. That is a good thing for your trees. I also think they are much nicer to look at.

I've always wanted a brick sidewalk adjacent to a moat.

The art commission came into play because they approve any signage, and in their report they said the color couldn't change due to the "strobe" issue. Even though it didn't strobe, especially since it took about 45 seconds for each color change!

cool name.

One thought re: brick sidewalks - if you have a really shady spot, the mildrew grows fast and furious and makes bricks very slippery (and is generally kind of ugly and tends to look unkept even it's not).

I have brick sidewalks (from previous owners). I don't think they had them done professionally but they are pretty good. Several neighbors had theirs done together this year (3 houses in a row) and had a beautiful job done. The contractors also tried to match the brick pattern to the house at the end so there was a uniform look. It looks really nice.

Default really nice brick sidewalks

Would you have any idea who the contractor was?

Would you mind sharing the street or perhaps the block?
