In response to what SouthStMan said, I don't know where you get the idea that Cafe Fulya is "hungry for business." The cafe happens to be doing quite well from the looks of it (steady business on weekdays, and on weekends there's a line out the door). Also, every time I have stoped in, both Fulya and whoever she has working have been extremely curteous and friendly to both myself and other customers. She has even responded to the suggestions by the people on this blog and posted a sign on her door saying "sorry, no dogs." While you're entitled to your opinions and suggestions, there's no need for a personal attack against Fulya or her business, which happens to be doing quite well (rightly so).

Well, since you wish to be an ass, I'd suggest that a place must be hungry for business if they choose to violate the law by allowing dogs into their establishment.

SouthStMan gave no personal attack, and anyone opening a new place is hungry for business-epecially since a previous coffeeshop failed at that location.

One post and this is what you come up with? You sound like a brother defending a sister. How low do you want to go in causing negativity towards cafe fulya? If you would look at southstman's posts you would know that he's not the type to attack businesses. I, however, will attend to every nuance of YOUR ridiculous comment if you wish to press the issue.

I'm sorry, I don't believe I was addressing you in my response.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions on this page, and I believe that SouthStMan's comments were a little too personal, that's all. As for calling me an "ass" and my comment "rediculous" I can see how much class you have. Talk about sounding like a brother defending a sister... I don't wish to argue with you or anyone else on this blog. This is a place for comments and suggestions, not a forum for petty verbal attacks.

Alesis, we haven't danced in a while so I figured it's time to call you out on something...

The fact that Cafe Fulya willfully broke the law and allowed dogs is not necessarily indicative of being hungry for business. You would be more correct to say that (a) they may be hungry for business and (b) such hunger may be the reason for the violation.

As you know, it is possible that the cafe is ignorant of the law, that it doesn't respect the law, that it has good business but nevertheless tried to get even more, etc.

Thanks. You know me, I appreciate clarity.

nola,
Happy laborious day!
hehehe...there is no way that they can be ignorant of the law, as it is part of the class to be the certified food safety individual on premises since it is a code violation on the current health inspection report.

As for the term "hungry for business", it is nothing more than an expression; however, with their other restaurant for sale and the discussions going on about it, expressions may have a ring of truth. Who knows, who cares. The fact remains that no one knows unless they are their accountant, so retaliating over a rather common phrase is indeed rather ridiculous-not "rediculous" as amk wishes to say.
amk,
last time I checked, southstman wasn't addressing you, yet you retorted against a rather innocent comment. So if you wish your posts to be private and without scrutiny, make them so towards southstman; otherwise, **** you and the horny horse you rode in on.

YAY!

I've always wanted to be called out for something on these boards!!

not sure what others think, but I use the phrase 'hungry for business' in two ways:

The costs of opening a business are staggering and, once the 'We're Open' sign is flipped, I would assume any good business owner is going to be hungry for business and want to do whatever they can to bring their new business into the black as quickly as possible.

Now - if a business has been open forever but is dying on the vine for lack of customers, they too can be 'hungry for business'.

Fulya is not that type of business, since they just opened. I've gone in - I've bought items from them and supported them.

I was just commenting that, you would think any new business owner hungry for business would be paying attention to any distraction that might affect the bottom line.

Sorry for the confusion.

psst...southstman, over here.

If you were so longing to get called out, you must be willing to defend yourself.

Breathe. Listen to your innerthoughts and hear that peter cetera song from the karate kid soundtrack...then attack.

No apologies. Never give up, never surrender.

Sometimes I just forget
Say things I might regret
It breaks my heart to see you crying
I dont wanna lose you
I could never make it alone

I am a man who will fight for your honor
Ill be the hero youve been dreaming of
Well live forever
Knowing together that we
Did it all for the glory of love

Just like a knight in shining armor
From a long time ago
Just in time I will save the day
Take you to my castle far away

NOW ATTTTTTTTTTTTTTAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK !

Default Cafe Fulya is great

Cafe Fulya is a very nice addition to the neighborhood. Alesis is a troublemaker who has nothing better to do than attack people who have fewer posts than he has.
