Default 3rd and Monroe?

I've been looking to move down closer to center city, and just recently heard of Queen Village. I found a potential place at 3rd and Monroe, but know NOTHING of the area.

Is it safe (Would my gf, a 23 yo feel comfortable walking around?) Hows parking?

Also, is there any areas of QV I should avoid? (Like I said, I know NOTHING of QV).

Thank you!

It's nice - our dog sitter used to live one block up on Pemberton. Very nice area - just a little sketchy when you go farther south between 3rd and 5th Christian and Washington. The area overall is great.

That's a very nice corner -- you'd be perfectly safe there.

A close friend of mine lived on that corner for years (her house is for sale now) as a single woman, and the only problem she ever had was one time someone rattled her railing so hard in the middle of the night that he pulled up one of the spokes. But she never felt unsafe. It's a bus route, which I think makes a difference in terms of safety since there's more foot traffic, better lighting, etc.
