FILMING IN BELLA VISTA
If you live in an impacted area, you have probably already seen the signs. We apologize for the late notice via email, we are working with the Greater Philadelphia Film office to receive more advance notices for our neighborhood.

There will be filming starting tomorrow, 4/15 and a ½ day on Wednesday, 4/16/08 in the area of 8th and Bainbridge. The company will plan using the following spaces, as posted and vehicles must be moved as noted on the signs:
The following Streets have been marked "NO PARKING" from Monday, April 14th at 10PM until Wednesday April 16th at 8PM
  • Both sides of Bainbridge St. between 8th and 9th Streets
  • Both sides of Bainbridge St. between 7th and 8th Streets (1/2 block closest to 8th St.)
  • Both sides of Fitzwater St. between 7th and 8th Streets
  • Both sides of 8th Street between Bainbridge St and Kater Street
  • Both sides of South Street between 8th St and 7th (1/4 of the block closest to 8th St.)
  • Both sides of 10th Street between Bainbridge and Fitzwater (1/2 block closest to Fitzwater)
**They will have two officers with them on set to assist.

If your car is not moved by the regulated time, it will be relocated by the Philadelphia Police Department to another street in the area.

The Filming company (Roman Dreams, LLC "The Dream of the Romans") looks forward to filming in our neighborhood, and will do whatever they can to minimize the impact of their presence. If you have any questions or special concerns such as deliveries, handicapped access, etc. please contact the Location Department at 215-640-9910 or see on of their representatives on the set and they will assist as best they can.

Please also note that this filming works in cooperation and under the guidelines of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office (215-686-2668) and the Philadelphia Police Department.

Thanks, BVTW, for making life easier and answering some questions sure to arise. Who knew?

Ok, so I won't be able to get out to watch this, but I see that I will be able to look out of my front windows to catch some of the action?

Welcome to Phillywood.

Luke Wilson is here filming "Tenure" http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/p...day_night.html

Jeff Daniels and Lauren Graham are here filming "Dream of the Romans" (like others, for some reason the title doesn't quite stick.) And if any of you know Jill of the Cookbook Stall, have her tell you a cute story.

And soon, a new movie with Demi Moore and Parker Posey will start filming, called "Happy Tears" http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/p...his_month.html

You ain't seen nothing yet. Transformers 2 will be filming here this June. Expect huge location shoots for something like that. Maybe Optimus Prime will run up the art museum steps... and crush them into rubble.

Sheesh, the first blockbuster we get in ages and it's über-hack Michael Bay, Shia "hambone" LaBeouf and a story so cartoonish that even I don't want to see it.

I've never seen this Transformers movie but apparently the kids liked it ...

Domestic: $319,246,193 45.1% + Foreign: $388,429,551 54.9% = Worldwide: $707,675,744
Transformers has already had the top-selling first week of any DVD sold this year, and will probably keep selling in record amounts. They moved 8.3 million units in the DVDs first week, a rather huge 4.5 million just on Tuesday giving it the record for best-selling day one for the year so far. It’s the top-selling October DVD release in the history of the home entertainment industry.

So hopefully they will at least show some of our lovely city before it get's stomped on and such .... perhaps one of the robots will eat the giant Geno's neon cheesesteak ... mmmm

Wow, that seems a lot of closures at once but with those one-way streets it's not that surprising I guess.

I can only imagine when Transformers arrives, what the mayhem around here will be.

They are starting to set up trailers and a lift with big lights at 8th & South. If I can get my camera and take any noteworthy pictures, I will.
