Default New Home Decor Store @ 7th/Kater

Work is progressing on an empty store on the corner of 7th & BAINBRIDGE, across from The Bean Exchange. Signs on the windows, which are all being replaced, indicate it will be a home decor store focusing on cabinets & countertops.

Maybe a branch of Société Générale

Or maybe they will have a "provence" style counter on display replete with "farmers sink".

Now if they put something nice in the empty lot a little further down...

A cabinets and countertops store within walking distance? For some of us, this is better than putting an adult toy shop in the neighborhood. What can you say about a neighborhood that boasts an adult toy shop, now with new even-more-specialty annex, before it has a cabinet and countertops store? Although I try to control my high-end-cabinetry lust, I might have to try this new place.

I'm so paranoid about my bag being stolen, I'd probably shove it up my ass if I could. I usually keep it on my lap. I never put it on the back of a chair or on the floor.

Speaking of new stores, when did The Expressive Hand open? And has anyone been in, either to paint pottery or learn sign language?

Very recently; the Grand Opening sign was up last week and prior to that it had signs saying "opening in January." It looks really nice driving by.

The owners are renovating that whole stretch of buildings into 3 or 4 units (they'll move into one and rent out the others) but accelerated the Expressive Hand opening at the request of the store owner. So there will be construction around it for a while, but it worked out well for the owners to start getting some rent in, and for the Expressive Hand owner to start business. Now as long as it does well, it will be a win-win all around!
