Default Hawthorne is Vibrant Community

T.O. you are definitely in Hawthorne. So am I. If you haven't yet, please attend a Hawthorne Empowerment Coalition community meeting. The next meeting is our annual meeting: Tue June 13th at the Hawthorne Cultural Center 1200 Carpenter St 7p. We are giving a community service award to Ready Willing and Able. Councilman DiCicco will attend.

Saturday June 17th we're have a Father's Day Rally to save Hawthorne Park. Bring your neighbors. This park is important to bring our diverse neighborhood together. This is critical moment in our fight for the park. We looking for a big turn out. We're working closely with Uarts, PHS, and our public officials.

We also have a budding arts community. We're planting trees through TreeVitalize. These are just some of the things going on in our unassiming little neighborhood.

I've lived in Bella Vista for years, and near as I can tell, the people in south philadelphia think it's center city and the people in center city think it's south philadelphia.

Its funny, it keeps changing and expanding (the finer neighborhoods anyway). I would say that your neighborhood is Avenue of the Arts now, no?

I would say center city at that point... I'm sure it has some specific name, but as Bella Vista and Hawthorne are IN South Philly, whatever name someone may tell you... that IS Center City
