Its not a compliment or an insult, I view the term with complete indifference. I don't see myself as a racist (which is all that really matters), I see myself as a realist.

Unlike white liberals (and other whites who have allowed themselves to be bullied by the PC crowd), I refuse to go along with the crowd. I am the little boy who recognizes when the Emperor has no clothing on, and says so.

Everyone knows that black people commit the majority of violent crimes in major cities...yes, even silly white liberals. But no one wants to come right out and say it for fear of being called "racist", so Scorpio Rose is the sacrificial lamb who comes out and says it. But that's because I honestly don't care what people think of me for doing it.

Oh sure, SR gets tons of PMs from cowardly people congratulating her on having the guts "to say what needs to be said", but why does only she have the guts? Why will no one else acknowledge the elephant in the room?

Realist, huh.

If that means I'm going to brick myself inside my house, then I rather not be a realist.....


That is my problem with being a realist...You can say that, say no one else sees it, but yet you have no solution to change it.

But I guess realist know they can't change it....

Its true, I have no solution for changing the problem. No one does. It seems that no matter what is done, the problem remains.

And that is a realist answer.

It's not a bad thing, but it reminds me why I got into the nonprofit (youth) world in the first place.

I know this isn't a QV/BV-specific issue, but I thought it was relevant to Edna's story...

Scorpio, some people think the truth is racism. What you are saying about who commits the most crimes is true. How in the world is something racist if it's the truth? Look where a vast majority of the homicides are in Philadelphia (North & West Philly and sometimes West Kensington).

Also I'm sure I'll be thrown into the racist pile, but when people are caught fighting dogs, pay attention to where it happens. Sure there are a exceptions and sometimes dog fights occur in middle class areas. A majority, however, are in low income neighborhoods populated by minorities and trashy whites.

It's the truth and if that makes me a racist to some of the politically correct liberals, than I don't really care.

By the way there is an article about Edna in the February 2008 edition of Greater Philly Tails. I think most of the library branches have copies, that's where I pick mine up.

The simple fact is that Scorpio Dope, amongst others, kept screamin' about how our neighborhoods are getting destroyed by blacks and "animals" that we've fallen victim to, and relating it to this dognapping...turns out that the demon child in question is white. That, my friend, is racial conjecture.

And yeah-I'll pay attention to where people are caught "fighting dogs"; alot of it has recently been in port richmond and kensington-predominately white 'hoods. The latest string has been 22 pitbulls found in a Kensington basement. Oh, and Chestnut Hill-we all know how that place is filled with "trashy whites".
