I have my character and integrity for one. I know how to behave like a civilized human being and how to treat others with respect. I was raised to be a productive member of society who pays his own way and I'm not looking for a handout. Interesting piece in today's Inquirer linking racism to poor parenting. There's a lot of that going around.

Maybe we should require parenting classes in public school. The Inquirer piece took the position that good parenting by far trumps any sort of cultural or sensitivity training on race relations. I'm no sociology expert but it makes sense.

I always wondered why they walk so slow in front of our car...my husband did, too. I guess now I know? Because they resent that we own a car??

Its like the time we were on Oregon Avenue, and some kids came over and asked us if we wanted them to wash our windows.

We said "No thank you", and they proceeded to HIT our car with their squeegee things, actually leaving a dent (we later found out!)

My husband drove after them, then got out and ran after them. They ran into the housing project that is/was there, and it was funny to me to see them actually AFRAID of us for a change, instead of the usual other way around.

I don't hate people based on their race. What I hate is the criminal element, which in this and many other cities, does seem to reside mostly in the black community.

Uh, anyone have any updates on this story, such as whether Edna has maybe been spotted (in the event this was a sick joke?)...I just went through 5 pages of irrelevant bull.
