i dunno - i think they'll stay as is ... after all, the purpose was to create a strip that stood out from the neighborhood - the red poles were part of that design - and personally, i like them!

can't wait to see the corner curbs - i noticed a sweet ADA rubber traction on a curb ramp cutout (i think it was at American & South) - i wonder if that's happening throughout the streetscape...

Apparently that's a brand new federal regulation, and why it took so long to do the corners. The law changed right before they were beginning work. Oddly, I think they get slippery in the rain, but I guess the texture gives wheelchair wheels some gripping.

If the cutouts are anywhere nearly as slippery as the curbs are during the rain, then i'd hope so. There's no need to have kids pushing grandma falling and eating part of the curb.

They'll probably have tiny little lego brick bumps on the ramps to lessen the slipping, as they do on Girard.

That's what it looks like, but its one sheet.

Is this all almost done? Drove by there the other day and I noticed that the street is still the same? Is it just the new lights and curbs?

Maybe it's just me, but I wish they'd used elecrical contractors from the city, rather than Huntingdon Valley.

So you're for paying more for the same work?
