What a craphole. It's never been good, never will be good.
Bring it on Alesis! Just kidding. I think we can all agree that there are tremendous restaurants in the neighborhood and plenty of redeeming qualities. That said, nothing is perfect. I think South Street can improve and should improve -- what "improve" means is different to different people. I, for one, am in favor of the stampers square project. I think that will bring more people to the 'hood with more money to spend (which they will spend) in our restaurants and shops and businesses. I am not for losing the tattoo places and funky stores, but it would be nice to sprinkle additional higher end, and different, places into the vacant store fronts. What are people's general views on Stampers Square? I am very happy with the progress of the new streetscape, I thought for sure it would drag on and on.... |

I am pro-Stampers square. It is just what the district needs from a business perspective. We need investments like this project. As a resident, it is about the best we are going to get....we aren't going to get townhouses like many people hope for and we don't want a big retail space.
High end condos, 4 star hotel and 5 star restaurant...that works for me. As for the lights, here's a quick pic... ![]() |

I say bring it. It pizzes me off that the developer can use the hole in the ground argument (make a terrible hole in the ground and then let people argue that anything is better than a hole in the ground), but looking beyond that, the entire concept is about as perfect as one can imagine for that space.

That's pretty much a given. Have to take the good with the bad. There's no doubt that the developers are hooked up just right. I noticed city council had a bill pending to take care of the zoning issue. I don't know how it came out.
