Sweat or others....what are people's reccomendations in the area? This is for my wife as I have facilities at work, so take into consideration a mid 20's urban female here.

Sweat or fit24-7(now optimal fitness).
i belong to optimal for business reasons, my wife goes to sweat. I use optimals boxing facilities, and have access 24 hrs. Which is better since i wprk late at night. It has a pool, racquetball, drycleaning, and a bunch of other ho-hum addons. Membership is 80, 120 for 24 hr access and a locker. You really dont need the 24 hr mem. Since they're open 4am-11pm

Sweathas less ammenities, but is much more fashionable with their classes and up to date equip. You can also use all of their locations, and they are opening a beautiful new spot in italian mrt. Area!!! They have a pretty decent class schedule.

Sorry for the typos.

I used to work out at Sweat and was not a big fan. I now work out at City Fitness. Great gym. All new equipment. My wife and I love it there. Good luck with whatever gym you select.

Do you know the address of the new Sweat location? I checked their site, but it didn't have any info.

Thanks

Still in build-out phase, but will be on E. Passyunk Avenue, just below Dickinson St., near the Acme.

Sweat is the easiest/cheapest pricing structure IMO - easy month to month plan and you can easily get those coupons etc.

Really not a big fan of their machines - they really don't have a good pec machine period - the rod's doesn't go far back enough and you can easily lift 200lbs - hence, not a great workout.

12th street gym has a great equipment selection - just a bit too crowded and not a big fan on going in a danky basement.

Really don't like national chains period - too cocky and expensive - Bally's can suck it!

If you join Sweat, you should check out if you qualify for Globalfit. It saves about $20 per month on membership fees.
