Hi Guys,

Does anyone have any experience with living in an apartment above a store on the Italian Market? I'm considering moving into one and wanted to see if i could get some feedback.

I looked at an apartment there. But it smelled too much like meat. I figured that would either make me barf or gain thirty pounds, and neither outcome was desirable.

In all seriousness, though, I'd go look at the place and just make sure you do it while the market is open. That'll give you a sense of the noise and the smells. I imagine it really varies from place to place.

I lived over the market (a block up from Pat's and Geno's) for 5 years, up until last summer. It's a great neighborhood, but you should definitely be aware that it can be pretty loud-- while the shops are open, and also at night-- at least where I was, since that's where folks go after the bars close. It's probably better at night if you're north of Washington, though.
