Default Help please...I missed trash day

I forgot to take my trash out last night, and am now stuck with a stinky bag of trash in my apartment. I do not have any access to an outside space that I can store it until next week. Is there anywhere I can take it to dispose of it? Or am I stuck with a smelly bag of garbage for a week?

I'm sure this has happened to all of us at one time or another. My solution is to use several bags to hold it, spray it with Febreeze & put it near an air freshener. Good luck with that

I've found that many of life's dilemmas can be solved with the help of a roaring fire.

Yes, there are places you can take it. I don't remember off the top of my head but call the streets dept. and they can tell you where and when.

In the mean time double bag it and you'll be OK.

Put it in the fridge to keep the garbage from rotting.

Ok...that might not work...try this

SANITATION CONVENIENCE CENTERS
Sanitation Convenience Centers are also available for your use. These locations accept for disposal any rubbish, recyclables, bulk items, or tires that would normally be collected at curbside. Please note that all relevant regulations on limits and types of materials still apply. All locations are open Monday through Saturday, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., except on City holidays.
  • Southwest Philadelphia - 1600 S. 51st St., off Grays Ave.
  • Southwest Philadelphia - 3033 S. 63rd St., near Passyunk Ave.
  • Northwest Philadelphia - 300 block Domino Lane, near Umbria St.
  • Port Richmond - Delaware Ave. & Wheatsheaf Ln., north of Castor Ave.
  • Northeast Philadelphia - State Rd. & Ashburner St.

Good thing you got that useful response... I was going to suggest tying a string to it and hanging it out an upstairs window.

Bravo to you for asking. I wish all of my neighbors were as considerate as you are. There's at least one lowlife household on my block who think nothing of putting their trash out the day after pickup so that the rest of us can look at it and smell it till the next trash day. After getting no resolution by calling Sanitation week after week, I finally called my councilman's office about it and was told that as long as the bag of trash is resting against the house and not out at the curb, it's perfectly legal to leave it there.

Absolute B.S. on their part. Its an environmental nuisance, and SWEEP has to deal with it.
