Hey everyone. It's almost a month since we moved in at the corner of Marvine and Fitzwater and so far, we love it!
Before I get into my post, Jill and I had a great time with our sidewalk sale last Saturday! We met a lot of great new neighbors and sold almost all of the stuff we had up for sale. By the way, if anyone needs a killer pub height dining table with six chairs, drop me a PM. It actually seats up to eight and is 54" square with the center leaf in. Months before we moved in, we read numerous posts about the night time activities at the corner of 12th and Fitzwater. While that corner remains the most active spot of the immediate hood after dark, we've seen less and less action each passing day. I know with the warm weather ahead it's bound to get a little more crowded there at night. We've noticed a pretty consistent police presence there which obviously has a lot to do with the less that anticipated activity. Has anyone else who has lived here since last summer noticed a difference in the level of activity at that corner? I must admit, we've got rocked with selling our Bucks County home in the middle of this down real estate market and buying a high end home in a transitional hood was a real gamble; but if things keep going in the direction I think they are, it might not have been a losing hand after all. Thanks for any and all replies... |

Great to be here! Can you elaborate on the proposed mall at Broad and Washington? I've heard bits and pieces about it, specifically that it's going to be on the high end as far as retailers are concerned. If that's the case, it looks like our great new home may also be a better than expected investment.
Hope to hear from you soon! |

A lawyer that I spoke with is working with some of the potential tenants and part of the entire project. It's going to happen, but they couldn't give me that many details because the plans (as we know) are still on the drawing table. However, it's a great sign that they're already in discussions with retail tenants. Naturally, that's all confidential, but if I found out anything else, I'll definitely post. I wish I heard more news about the proposed Dranoff property at Catherine and Broad.

Thanks Lat12.
your post seems dead on. If they're negotiating with potential retailers, it's only a matter of time. I'll keep my eyes and ears open as well for any news on the other project as well. Thanks, J. |
