How about contacting the Fire Department? They must have an inspector who could become involved in this.

Is it a commercial garage?

Thumbs up

No, private home. The fire dept. seems like a good way due to the CO.

Fire dept is a good option.

You could also try the councilman's office. I've had quite a bit of help over the years re: nuisance properties, etc.

cline is correct-the fire dept.

They have the right to put a cease operations order against anyone that is producing toxic fumes that could be a potential danger "to the building occupants or those in the proximity of any structure or premises"(A-505)

A friend's dad died from carbon monoxide poisoning due to excessive car exhaust-it doesn't just stink, its bad for you.

I know some people hate to hear it but I'd also call the councilman's office. Really. I think they'd get on it for you. and call the fire department and maybe even the police.... seriously.

Clarification: Car exhaust stinks. Carbon monoxide, unfortunately, does not. (Thus the importance of CO alarms in your house.)
