Are you surprised? Having had dealings with the owners, their arrogance in not reaching out to the neighbors doesn't surprise me in the least.
Its perhaps one of the most hideous new houses around..... of any scale.

Please excuse my naivity, but what do you mean when you say that the neighbors are disappointed that the new homeowners did not reach out or consult with them? Why would this be necessary? It was formerly a single story garage (if memory serves me) and they purchased the property to build a new home. Seems like a 'case closed' scenario to me. Don't get me wrong, I think the 'palazzo' style is ridiculous, but design taste isn't up for negotiation except when it is a block with historic designation. Maybe I'm missing part of the story?

i saw the front of that house for the first time a few weeks ago. i always thought it was a multi-fam condo from the view on fitzwater. it is huge! but gaudy as all hell. i would be mad if i lived on that block and they built that monstrosity. not that its illegal or should be. i mean if you buy land, you should be able to build whatever you want (within reason). but still, it sticks out like a sore thumb in the alley where the front of the house is.

Default I agree

It's silly, that's all. But darn big.

Plus, I feel a little bad for Joel Levinson, who had to design the thing.

"You want whaaaa???"
