i like violets @ 10th and Reed, its a very nice, short walk from QV and afterwards you can go to the deli across the street and treat yourself to a good SP chicken cutlet sandwich

It was time to switch to a new place after my last barber. Last time I went there, about halfway through the haircut I noticed a bunch of empty beer cans under the chair he had just been sitting in. Friend don't let friends cut hair drunk.

I like Chop Shop because it's an institution. I haven't minded the occasional not-so-great cut, because most of the time I'm happy, and if not I can always buzz.

This time, though, I'm thinking of trying something else, because in recent trips the stylists just haven't engaged. Like, they ask what I want, and I say, "What do *you* think is best?" -- because I really don't know how I look to other people, and they're good at this, and I'm willing to trust them. (As de Tocqueville said, we don't always know what's best for our hair.) But they reply, "Whatever." I try again and get a variant of "whatever", and whatever is what I end up with. No good!

I still say you can do really well there, especially for the price. But maybe CS and I aren't the best match.

Audrey and Liddy (?) at CS have both been great. There was also a guy there, Matt, who did a really good job with my hair.

So I rang up CS and requested Audrey. Had to wait a week to get her -- no fault of hers -- but it was worth it! She was a total sweetie and gave me a great haircut. Thanks for the recommendation.
