Default Good Vet?

I had two very bad & painful experiences (for me & my 22-yr old cat) at Queen Village & on top of that was treated terribly by the staff, including the docs. I don't really want to go into it, but I took the charts & left. I tried to file a complaint with the BBB, but apparently they aren't a member, though I could be wrong about that. They're all about as much money they can get from you & could care less about the animals - or their owners. Trust me, ot was an awful experience.

I've used Society Hill for 15 years for 4 different dogs and have been very happy with them.

Thumbs up natural vet- wonderful

i've been taking my dog to dr. morin at delaware valley animal hospital. her office is a bit far- in fairless hills near oxford valley mall, BUT she is fabulous and i highly recommend her. she is very knowledgeable and a strong supporter of a holisitic and natural approach. if anyone is interested i'll post her #.

Exclamation 24 Hour Animal Hospital?

Hi everyone, and thanks so much for all of your wonderful responses. My next question is related to the initial topic of this thread. In addition to a good vet, is there a 24 hour emergency animal hospital in the area? We have an English bulldog (cutest thing ever!) and in true bulldog form, she is a high maintenance pet with some health issues. Thanks again!

Yes I am, please give me the #? Is she reasonable? Does she have a web site?

Thanks,
Cappa

UPenn has one of the best pet emergency rooms in the country. It is at 39th and Spruce Street.

Yes. This office is one of the best in the area. They are affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania. This is where I took my rabbits when they had a problem. Dr. Comings is our vet there, though I think her specialty is avains and exotics. She was the first vet that actually knew more than I or my wife did about the care of rabbits. While we were in the waiting room, everyone there with their pets had nothing but great things to say about their specific doctor.

I've never felt that way about QV - we've often NOT been charged for services and frequently get many free meds. A business doesn't have to be part of the BBB to have a complaint issued - we've issued many complaints about business throughout the years. The only thing I can say that I don't like about QV is a certain receptionist - most are nice, but there is one there with an attitude that could really be adjusted.

For a small emergency, (my puppy was bit on his face and had one large puncture wound and lots of blood), I took him to Society Hill Vet. It was a Sunday and they were closed, but I knew staff would be there tending to the animals. I banged on the door until it they opened it and they took him right in. They were great.

When my girl dog jumped off a roofdeck and broke both of her front legs (while I was on vacation), we went to Penn. I HATED her doctor (who is no longer there), but all of the other staff was great. It is, however, super expensive. We're almost done paying the $10K vet bill. But, what are you going to do, she's well worth it.
