I wish people wouldn't dump trash!!! I'm right there with you.
I watch my neighbors carry their trash to public trashcans (literally) and then when there's no room, they put it next to the can on the ground, let it blow around, etc. All my neighbors dump trash in the park at the end of our street (there's an old trash can there). It drives me bonkers. Watched the owner of an empty/fenced lot at the end of my street open the gate to his lot so he could dump in there - couch, etc. Given it's a chain link fence, we had to look at his garbage. I filed a complaint against him. Here's the rub - he's a realtor in the neighborhood. |

HAHAHA...I have a similar predicament...an assistant DA is my neighbor, and I've caught him throwing trash into the public receptacles and urinating in the dog park at night when he's drunk...
Gotta love the classy ones. As someone said in a thread about the Waltons buying the "gross clinic" Eakins painting... YOU CAN'T SHINE SH*T

Put the papers in a green trash bag with some real trash and I shall stop over to pick it up with my Trash truck... |

Whoa! Back up the train. I was under the impression that the city sends recycling trucks around every other trash day (although it hasn't been picked up in weeks so I must be missing the correct week or something). Can someone bring me into the loop about recycling in QV?
Also, I am trying to figure out if I'm in the green or blue zone, does anyone know where I can find this info? I looked on the Streets website and can't find a zone map or anything. Thanks for the help! |

I think that in most (if not all) of QV, recycling is picked up weekly on the same day as trash collection. In some parts of the city, recycling is every other trash day. In addition, there are neighborhood-run recycling "drives" which take place on either the first or third saturday of the month at specific locations (see the link above). At these drop-offs they accept PLASTIC and CORRUGATED cardboard which the city does NOT collect during normal recycling pickups. Many people, myself included, store all of their plastic bottles and cardboard boxes and take them to these monthly drop-offs rather than put them out in the trash to go to a landfill somewhere.

QVNA recycling is every other week (I think it's this week).
You put it out with your trash. papers need to be bundled or bagged. They will not take corrugated cardboard. Cans & glass can be co-mingled in a container. They do not take plastic. If you have cardboard or plastics, they need to be taken to community drop off on the first saturday of the month under 95. BTW, if there is a holiday, recycling is pushed one day back just like trash. |

Has anyone recently been having trouble with curbside pickup of recycling? I called the Streets Dept. Customer Care hotline multiple times with no resolution. My paper pile is only 3 inches shorter than me now!
Any ideas as to how to get this problem resolved? ![]() I guess I'll be seeing some of you at the QV recycling thingy this weekend... |
