Can anyone recommend a good (and reasonably priced) painter in the QV area to paint a couple of small rooms?

Everyone I know of uses Chobert. Their trucks are everywhere, and they (father and sons) live in the neighborhood. I haven't used them myself but I had them come give an estimate (we ended up using painters my contractor had worked with before) and they were extremely prompt and professional. Definitely more on the expensive side, but my sense is that they quality makes it worth it.

I can tell you to avoid DIAMOND Painting like the palgue. They did work for me and when it came time to make good on the 5 year guarantee they stopped taking my calls altogether. I would definately use Chobert also when I call someone again. I only hear good things about them.
