Children playing on a sidewalk! What will happen next? A rogue game of hopscotch? The children are fine. Now where can I file a complaint about the grown man riding his bike illegally on the sidewalk who said, "beep beep!" as he prepared to pedal past me.

Default We finally tried this restaurant - good news

My boyfriend and I recently gave Trattoria Alla Costiera a try. We were SO pleased to have another restaurant to add to our list. We eat out most nights and we are happy to have a new dining experience in the neighborhood. Yes, there are other Italian restaurants in the neighborhood, but it is nice to have a new one on the list. The menu isn't much like the others (Ralph's, Villa, etc) which have a Southern Italian slant. Appetizers and entrees were good and sizable yet the prices were very reasonable (2 apps and 2 entrees for $50). I had a wonderful seafood dish made with fresh linguine and my boyfriend had the sausage and broccoil rabe over penne. As for the complaints about children, we didn't see or hear them, not that we would have minded. We received complimentary homemade lemoncello at the end of our meal. I am not sure if this is available every night or not, but it was a very pleasant surprise and great way to end a great meal.

they have the lemoncello every night. They always have new specials and on our last visit I had the pork chops stuffed with prosciutto and it was delicious.

Default attempted crime...

I spoke to the owners tonight and got the scoop. They said that a homeless guy was creeping around the side entrance testing the door handles to see if they were unlocked (they weren't) and then came in the front door (which was unlocked) a few moments later. He took a jacket off of the coat rack that sits by the door and, when confronted by Rosanna, ran. Tom caught up with the thief and got the jacket back. The police activity around there a little while later was another incident altogether. The owner didn't call the police to report the attempted theft.

This goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: Remember to lock your doors! This guy is still out there and I'm sure he is still testing doors!

well, considering that tom damn near knocked me over on his way to yell at the guy, i can say he was a black guy...maybe in his mid/late 40s (ok, i could be way off on that), wiry frame, short hair, kind of crazy looking and talking to himself after being yelled at, clothes that let you know he's probably homeless. after being yelled at he saw someone he knew (not homeless) near the gym and they talked for a while.

but i'm really bad at seeing things and describing them, so hope i never have to provide a description of someone to the police

Good for Tom. I don't know him personally, but he looks like he runs 5 miles a day. I bet he caught this clown easily. LOL!

and please don't tell me this bum was the scrawny little white dude that periodically trolls the neighborhood for handouts. If this guy asks me for money one more time I'm going to pretend like I'm going to give it to him, but smash him in the face instead. then mayble he will move onto another neighborhood. His schtick is really getting old.
