Yep. I actually think Queen Street was the "cleanest" street in the village this morning -- far better than 3rd Street, Catherine, or even Christian (all of which I drove on). Someone "important" must have moved onto the street recently. <g>

Almost 48 hours post-snowstorm and our street still isn't plowed. Street has no worries, as he isn't facing another election in the city. Last night on the news, though, he said he would "rate" the city's efforts at snow plowing at a B+. What a joke.

Suggestion to everyone: please take a moment to remove snow from around sewers on your block, so that melting snow can drain quickly.

Just heard Channel 10 is in the neighborhood doing a story on unplowed streets. Heh. My street wasn't plowed.

My street is one of those 8' wide "carriage ways". Plows don't fit down it plus it is a historic cobblestone street. Needless to say, plowing it isn't a priority. However, on occaision a little bobcat with a front loader will come down the street and try to remove the snow. The problem is, they only do it with heavy snows, and the little bobcat doesn't have the weight or traction needed to push all of the snow to the end of the street and out (they can't just push it to the sides). Inevitably, the bobcat gets stuck halfway down the street and leaves after creating a 3ft snowdrift blocking the road.

Let's just say I don't always mind it if they miss my street. A few neighbors usually come out and clear the road enough to get cars down the street.

Yuo sure they didn't plow it? If you saw 5th street you think thery didn't plow it it had a snow sheet abotu 3 inches thick. But they came by many times tying to break the snow cover with the trash and fire trucks weight and when the sheert finally broke up in many places(which then caused many cars to spin), the salt trucks came.

I was amazed to see/hear the 10, 11 and 1200 blocks of Emily plowed...by the city...using a mini-front loader which carted the snow to a waiting dumptruck. This happened about 11pm the day of the snow (Sunday). I don't know what we did to deserve this treatment - but it's nice to see tax dollars at work!

Emily Street has one travel lane and one parking lane - with about a foot in-between the two. In our area it's cut-off at 13th and 10th, so it's not exactly a through-street.
