Question Construction fences

Does anyone know what the regulations are for construction fences? There is one on Monroe Street near 2nd that takes up 2 street parking spaces. I haven't seen anyone working in that location for 3-4 weeks now. Can they keep the fence up indefinitely?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I did see some guys working there a few days this past week and it looks much cleaner now.
(I'm talking about on 2nd near Monroe though, not on Monroe near 2nd. So maybe we're talking about different places...)

I think it's the same place but the fence is on Monroe.

I think that as long as these people obtain a permit, they can continue to have the space. I'm sure that the permit has an expiration date, but they can just renew it for a "small fee"

I know the place you're talking about -- it's right next door to our landlord's house. They completely gutted the house that the fence is surrounding. I haven't seen much work going on there either, but I'm generally not in that area during working hours.

There is a construction fence on 3rd very near Monroe next to our apartment that's been there forever, also taking up parking spaces and blocking the sidewalk -- and it's an eye-sore, too. Months went by before I saw anyone actually working on the place. I saw a couple of people working there recently, but they don't seem to be making much progress. It's right across the street from the QVNA office, and I would think they'd make a stink over it, but I haven't seen or heard anyone else complain.

No, I was wrong. I was thinking of the one on 3rd St., right across from Monroe.

I saw that, but since then they've done a lot of work clearing out the rubble.
