Can't say what's up, but if it's an old gas station there will be the additional wrinkle of environmental remediation - basically cleaning up from the gas tank that probably sat buried there for decades, leaking toxic gas fumes into the soil. But it can be done. The new houses built about 4 years ago at 19th & Fairmount were built on the site of a former gas station.

It has been over a year and half since the gas station was torn down and the lot still sits vacant. It has really become an eyesore that is bringing down the whole intersection accumulating trash and overgrown weeds. Does anyone know if any potential development possibilities/news?

i would love an update, but there is probably none
my family was in from out of town yesterday and I had the pleasure of pointing out the worlds LARGEST weed to my niece. seriously, have you ever seen a weed as large as the one growing on the west side of that lot. can any botanists identify that monstrosity??? ![]() it realy takes an ignorant, inconsiderate person to let their property go like that. Why not mow it twice a year, would that really cost so much? |

They could put up another super$h!t building for everyone to be extremely embarrassed about on the triangle.
Instead of admitting so though, people will simply publicly react and say "oh well...atleast its better then what was there before".

I live very close to that location and I agree the weed on the west side is enormous and getting out of hand.
As to what to do with the spot, this may be anathema to a lot of people's sensibilities, but I think it would be the perfect location for a robotic parking garage. Our neighborhood needs more parking, and I would be willing to pay for it. Not to mention it would fit in with the former use of the property. |
