that's the site I used. Just select either 601 Christian or 600-700 Christian and 601 is the first one that comes up as vacant lot.

We looked them up on Hallwatch.org when we moved to the neighborhood about 2.5 yr ago because their back patio adjacent to our house was 1) a pigsty and 2) a bathroom and 3) God knows what else for homeless and random people. We tried to contact them with no luck so we just boarded up the entrance to the patio ourselves and haven't heard anything from them about it.

I saw pretty recently some people moving wood into the house. The house is basically a storage space for wood (wall to wall wood, nothing else). When I asked if the place was going to be rehabbed, the people didn't seem to know so I assumed they were not the owners. The name on Hallwatch is Dana Marinucci, but we never got anywhere trying to reach the owner. If anyone knows them or sees them, pass the message that they should be ashamed of themselves and that their neighbor has some choice words for them.

The owner is supposed to be billed for that (so don't get any ideas) but I don't know what jurisdiction the CA people have to bill people.

Not sure what CA stands for but if the city comes to clean out a lot the owner is getting the bill for it. If the owner will ever pay the bill is different issue. The city came to clean up that junkyard on the 600 block of queen a few weeks ago after many neighbors complained and the city crew told me that the owner will get the bill for the usage of the loader, a large truck and the cleaning crew.

The services provided by Citizens' Alliance for Better Neighborhoods, including sidewalk and street sweeping, alley cleaning, graffiti removal, tree planting, vacant lot clearing, etc, are all free of charge.

This would make me nervous - when I see a lot of untended wood, I think two worst-case scenarios - either there will eventually be a lot of termites, or if it ever catches fire there will be enough kindling to keep that fire raging.

I'm usually not negative, but this sounds like it isn't a good situation - wood or no wood. Good luck.

It is my understanding that a citizen requesting service would not be charged. However, the CA is supposed to charge an absentee landlord/nuisance property if they have to clean up an abandoned lot, a lot of trash, etc.
