Default What is your voter registration affiliation?

One comment: if you are sick and tired of abusive and insulting Democrat campaigns in Philadelphia, I would encourage you to change your registration to Independent.

You didn't answer your own question.

But I guess we can safely assume that you're not a Democrat, nik....

How does changing your party affliation rid the city of "abusive and insulting Democrat campaigns" in Philly? Wouldn't it just give me LESS say since I couldn't vote in any primaries?

Actually, it seems to me that the best strategy is to register back and forth between Democrat & Republican based on which party has the more significant/interesting/hotly contested primary race going.

In the interim, as a statement, you could then switch back to Independent. Of course, this would be a whole lot of relatively pointless paperwork, so most people just stick with whatever they've got. But I will definitely switch depending on the given year/race. Loyalty to a party is a ridiculous concept.

Many states allow Independents to vote in the primary. Some allow Reps to vote in a Dem primary and vise-versa.

I'm all for every Rep switching to Dem for the primary and voting for Sharpton, then switching back to Rep to vote for Bush in a Bush/Sharpton shakedown, I mean showdown.

democrat for katz.

how much does it really matter when voting for mayor? i'm a democrat because of social and international opinions that are unaffected by the mayor. what i want for philly is a creative leader with a heart and a good fiscal policy.

what drove me crazy about this election was that some democrats thought that philly having a republican mayor would affect the president's re-election: news flash--truly sorry-- it's going to happen anyhow.

I was also a Democrat for Katz. The move to tie him in with the national party was evil genius by Street, but not true at all. I do not think that the reelection of Bush is by any means for certain however Kate. Be more optimistic.

actually, i spoke to a few democrats who believe they drew their own conclusions about the inevitable impact a republican mayor would have on the presidentail election. they also believe that a republican mayor wouldn't be able to move an inch in city council, or in harrisburg, and would therefore be ineffective. don't get me wrong, i voted for sam despite their confidence on the topic, but i don't think those aspects of their democrat defense were part of street's campaign: people already believed it.

who will beat george w?
