Inqlings | Radio hosts to field calls on mayoral showdown

WPHT-AM (1210) and WHAT-AM (1340) will come together in a bold radio dialogue Thursday morning from 7 to 9 a.m. WPHT's Michael Smerconish and WHAT's Mary Mason will sit in WPHT's studio and field calls on the mayoral election. The show will air on both stations.

Smerconish's and Mason's allegiances are no secret. Smerconish, who will introduce Republican challenger Sam Katz at a rally tomorrow night, says he has a great relationship with Mason, who set up a Mayor Street fund-raiser last week at Patti LaBelle's house. "This is a healthy thing," he said of the planned show, which he called "exciting and unprecedented."

This should be good. I wish I had an AM reception in the office. I'll only be able to catch the first 30 mins. :cry:

WPHT-AM 1210 has a 50,000 watt non-directional signal; radios have a 2nd antenna inside the unit specifically for AM reception, so you might have to rotate the radio.

I'll give it a try, but I get no AM recption at all and I know 1210 is powerful, but I work next to a communications company with dishes behind our building. :-\

argh! I can't get a signal! LOL It was just getting good when I left my car at 7:45. I looked online and there's no stream of it. :cry:

Infinity Broadcasting stations (like WPHT-AM) do not stream online; WHAT-AM does not have a website that I can find.

I love 1210AM. Listen to it for several hours a day. I did however, find Schmerconish's/Mason's interview rather unproductive.

I listen to 1210 from 8:30 to 5.
