Refering to Hillary as a "monster" in terms of being effective at throwing up anything will stick was not really worthy of an apology. Its an awkward turn of phrase at worst. In the context of the aide's actual comments it was actually a left-handed compliment. Fervent McCain supporter Rev. Hagee calling the Catholic church itself a "whore" clearly falls in another category.

Well Hagee calling the Catholic church a "great whore" is probably in the same category as McCain calling televagelist Rod Parsley "one of the truly great leaders in America, a moral compass and spiritual guide".

I'm sure the "Hip-Hop" Pastors vids will be surfacing as soon as he's given enough time to settle in and get a few more under his belt, there's probably already a leash on this guy. I guess since I didn't spell it out for you I should try to explain that I was trying to show that this crap will go on for/against both sides by 527's/the DNC/The RNC to connect any dots they can capitalize on and will be taken seriously by a decent number of voters . I would also expect both candidates to pretty much dismiss most of this garbage, this is the one bright side I see to a Mcain/Obama contest and there might actually be some substatial debate on issues for once. BTW, Parsley also is somewhat on par with some of the Rev Wrights remarks (albeit in different terminology) but I guess that's a different story. And there's also some rumblings that the Rev Wright isn't too happy with Obama and the possibilities of a little "getting even" might be on the horizon.

Hagee and Parsley are hater's. No ifs, no buts, no maybes. Nothing an I mean NOTHING in anything related to Wright (as kooky as he is) even compares to the vicioulsy anti-gay spew that folks like Hagee and Parsley generate. And when you look at where Hagee would take US foreign policy - "Let's set off WWIII with Iran intentionally so we can urge the coming of the biblical Apocalypse" its icing on the cake.

Really if you want to to make it a "crazy preacher smackdown" to paraphrase President George Bush "Bring It On" because there are many, many more things in the Republican closet on that front to rightly scare your average swing voter silly.

He's from Chicago and was elected as an Obama delegate. John Street (I think) was elected as a delegate for Clinton (he ran at least). Meeks and Obama both served as State Senators from Illinois together. I'm sure they agreed on many issues in the IL State Senate. I know they disagree on others, including dramatically gay issues. Meeks has also said some inflamatory things about the racial divide in Chicago politics, comparing the Daley's dynasty s mayor to "slave masters".

I'm not really seeing Meek's support of his former colleague in the State Senate in the same category as McCain deliberately seeking out the support of Hagee way back in Jan. of 2007.
