That's why the 311 system was asked to go up. I can tell you right now AFSCME will have a field day objecting to it.

OMG my performance is being tracked! No noes!!!!
Caplan? Why does that name sound familiar?

They'll threaten to exhume the rotting corpse of Frank Rizzo Sr. and beat the mayor with it.

Two points I want to make to everyone:

1. Yes, there are landlords who fail to get renters' licenses. But you literally cannot file an eviction action without submitting a copy of your renters' license. That is a pretty strong incentive to get a license.

2. A tenant can call L & I any day of the week concerning a dangerous condition and have an inspector come out within 24 to 48 hours to issue a citation. The landlord cannot pursue an eviction action if there are outstanding violations; so again, a pretty strong incentive to keep the property violation free.

I think these incentives are sufficient to motivate people; and I don't think the "Rental Suitability Certificate" really adds anything of substance.

Default No Comfort

Considering we find rental properties that have not had a valid renting license since 1978 still open and operating like biz as usual it's NO Consolation that they are options are in force...... The properties we questioned are RUN DOWN DUMPY SLUMLORD HOMES!!!!!

The city really has me upset because they openly solicited Private Capital Investment to provide affordable Rent for families with NO Protection for the community. No way to get the TENNANT FROM HELL out

If you truly want that kind of say on who your neighbors are you need to move to the burbs, or bring that burbs here, and get in a HOA or find a way to start one.
