Maybe it wasn't him who signed them and it was that other Tony Payton, you know the one on the court doc's for drug charges, it just might must be a different Tony Payton.

I looked into this-and while Tony was the circulator of two petitions which were tossed, the petitions were tossed for a host of reasons-i.e. wrong addresses, republican signatures, independents, unregistered voters, etc.
You can't call him guilty of forgery when you don't know if he actually signed someone else's name. Since the Court didn't find Tony Payton a forgerer-stop saying so on this blog-this is the kind of stuff lawsuits are made of.
If your statement is true and Mr. Payton was the circulator on those "2" petitions, why would there be wrong addresses, republican signatures, independents, unregistered voters, etc. if he was going off a street list which gives you the names of all those registered in your district, their addresses, and their party affiliation? How could you make a mistake? Let alone not check them after the fact before handing them in. You definitely have time to check over the signatures before handing them in. Payton's signature as circulator were on more than just 2 petitions. (Oh, and don't forget Obama's petitions which he signed as circulator as well)

I don't think you comprehend what "notarized" means. You are attesting that these signatures are valid and they obviously were not. I question Mr. Payton's judgement/character.

I will throw this out there. I challenge State Rep. Tony Payton to sue me for stating that he signed petitions as the circulator for his bid to keep his State House seat. And that he attested to a notary that the signatures are valid and that when he attested to said petitions that if fact he as the circulator went and got every signature on said petitions and that I have sent a complaint to the AG office with copies of said petitions. And that said petitions were in fact forged by the person that swore under oath that they went and got everyone of those signatures. I will await his lawsuit. I think hell will freeze over before that happens I don't think he want anyone / Judge / Jury to see those petitions. I think I can find a good lawyer. So there's the challenge. Just a note I could care less who the State Rep is from that district unless it is a Republican. You can't have a person sitting in the State House that will break the law anytime he / she feels fit. And it looks like that is his track record look everyone fumbles once in their life but he is making it a habit. That is why I use that second quote in my signature.

Well-no one has yet to show me that it is Tony Payton the state rep-an obvious question which neither you nor anyone else has answered yet...
Not saying it definitely isn't him-but there's a lot of Tony Payton's out there. I await your proof, or his own admission.

Tell you what hot shot. Why don't you write a letter to your local newspaper, sign your real name and accuse Tony of forgery in the letter. What little I know about slander is that posting anonomously on a blog which is not read by many people will not qualify. But publishing it publicly does. You do that, and we'll see what Tony does about it.

There are conflicting interpretations about what it means to sign as a circulator. I would like to get the issue straightened out by tha AG, but the current intepretation practiced by the courts is that you are only saying to the best of your knowledge the signatures are legit and were gathered legally. Signing for someone else's crappy forgeries in this interpretation is lazy and irresponsible but not illegal.

I asked for deails on the criminal accusations if by chance you actually read the whole thread, but it's obvious you only see what you want to see and ignore facts when you see them, such as the petitions that HE signed and swore to.
