I hope this note finds everyone well.

I wanted to take a moment today and let you know that PhillyBlog (http://www.phillyblog.com) has now reached 100 registered users! That’s a membership increase of 50 percent over two months.

I’m very encouraged by the response we’re getting. The best part (and I realize I’m a broken record on this subject) is that the discussion on our board is truly substantive. People really care about the city and the region – that is really clear – and what’s more is that they’ve found a vehicle where they feel comfortable sharing and communicating that, whether the information is positive and glowing or a little constructive criticism.

Of course, I can’t say enough great things about our team – Steve Johnston, Wil Reynolds, Tracy Brant. We are all committed to ensuring the integrity of the board and that truly shows. We monitor its activity and participate on a daily basis (at least one of us is posting and checking every day, but usually it’s more than one of us). That makes a huge difference. Irrelevant posts, or posts that don’t pertain to Philadelphia, are removed so we all stay on topic. In an online community such as this, the management is vital.

We’ll have a bunch of new announcements heading into the summer, so keep an eye out for those.

Today, however, it’s hats, horns and confetti for our 100th customer!

I’m very excited about the future of the board, I hope all of you are as well. And most importantly, I’m really excited about the reception that everyone here has given to both the board and our team. It’s really exciting to be working with people here, we’re all doing some great things and our team looks very much forward to it continuing.
