To answer the OP's question, personally my favorite view is looking out into the city from the top of the Art Museum steps.
Yea, for ease of access, the top of the Art Museum steps def qualifies.

Personally, I like the view from the South Street Bridge best.

Here's a really good one from PhillySkyline.com

How is the view from atop City Hall or either of the Liberty buildings?

I've seen the Comcast building views.

9/14, quote on elections, because shosh had to put up that thoughtful writeup on mediocrity and elitism:
"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron." — H. L. Mencken

The view from City Hall is nice. I took this photo back in 1979 or 1980....

Things have changed a lot, the Vet to the far south is gone, and many new buildings have risen. Maybe I need to get back up there again, almost three decades later.

That's a wonderful shot; thank you. You should definitely take another shot and then compare!

Although I've lived here most of my life, I've never gone through any of the main tours. I probably should, but it just never felt appropriate.

You're welcome. I'm itching to shoot again, although disability has made it more difficult to get moving and motivated. It should be somewhat interesting if I do.

If you're going to do a tour, probably best to avoid the Duck tours. I had fun when I did it with visiting family. But if you're going to learn about city history, I think everyone with their quackers will distract you. Maybe the double-deck bus tour would be great, up top in the open and getting a great view of things.

Hey Lolly, I think that's my favorite view too. I've gone to Belmont Plateau, but never got a good feel for the view from their.
