My husband and I were lucky enough to get a good spot by both stages at last night's show.
And I was VERY, VERY lucky to manage to sneak in my DSLR. Here are some pics. I'm definitely an amateur, and although they're a little noisy because I had the ISO at 1600 due to low lights, I'm very pleased with the way these pics turned out. It's definitely the camera, not the operator! ![]() http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2012/...7a8d3b.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3210/...0c7dc8.jpg?v=0 Last edited by Lori1604 : 02-25-2008 at 11:21 PM. |

I've seen hundreds of bands, and thousands of concerts (including this one last night) and every FF show in the area since they formed. They're one of the best live bands in existence and really play to the crowd. Dave's voice was a little worn out last night, so they made up for it with crazy musical interludes of block rockin' guitar and drums, and he was still screamin his ass off anyway until they ended the show at midnight. Definitely see them next time they're around. I believe they just anounced summer tour dates this past week.

The Foos always put on an awesome show. My huz and I were discussing it on the drive home last night. It's amazing how much energy they have, and how they make their show seem fresh, even though they perform the same songs over and over and over again. It never seems like they're tired of what they do. |

It was kind of a minor miracle that I got the Nikon into the show. I had a pretty big purse with me, and I just put the telephoto lens in a side pocket and the camera body at the very bottom of the bag, covered by my wallet, small cosmetics bag, a bottle of aspirin, some gum, tissues, and car keys. I also had my Panasonic point-and-shoot in the purse too, just as backup. At one point early in the FF set, I got busted by a security guard with my camera. I was leaning over the barricade along the side of the catwalk, taking pictures, and he came over to me and told me to detach my lens from the camera. I complied and wandered a few people deeper into the crowd. Then I reattached the lens and fired away again! After a few more songs, I told my husband that I'd heard there would be a second, smaller stage coming down from the ceiling at the other end of the floor area. I convinced him to go to the back of the floor, even though he didn't want to. There was hardly anyone back there...they were all pressing against each other towards the big main stage. About ten minutes after we went back, sure enough the smaller stage descended from the ceiling, and we wound up almost directly under Dave's microphone. And I just turned to my husband and smirked. He couldn't believe how lucky we were! |
