I just went down to calumet this morning and picked up a lens baby. The salesman said it would give me about the same effect as a holga lens.

For anyone interested, they had a holga 35mm camera(it was only $25), but they didn't have a holga lens already attached to a nikon ring for my digital slr. I'm sure I could of fashioned it, but for the price I'll probably just order it from the website mpennsky provided.

I don't think they quite offer the same experience. The Lens Baby will offer blurriness in some areas and a selective clarity in others, but no gadget will ever really accurately convey what a Holga does.

But I'm old school and think that digital is inferior to film, so I'm quite biased.

I'm mr techie, so although I agree with you, digital suits my needs.

I am already finding that the lensbaby is not the effect I anticipated-but I can use it for some ideas I have. I like to take pictures for pantings used for illustrative purposes...this will add an interesting effect for a couple of book illustrations I'm working on.

I'm still going to purchase through the link pennsky provided-but so far I agree, lensbaby is not the same.

For anyone who likes building their own stuff, here's a link I found. I may be spending the day cursing in my basement.
Its for an eos, but the only difference for your style of camera would be in the body cap used.

I really like the first photo with the other tower in the shot. Something that will never be seen again.

How did you get on the roof though?

I mostly gave up on film when kodak stopped making B&W paper a few years back.

Today Polaroid announced it will be closing the rest of it's plants including the ones that make large format paper
