Default Schuykill River Park

I went for a very long walk tonight and brought my camera but not my tripod. I won't make that mistake twice. I love the subject but the color photo could be sharper.

The color image could have been sharper, but the b&w work is crisp. What did you do, place the camera on a ledge or something else solid in lieu of the tripod?

30th Street Station is always a good subject matter for photography. Would they snag you for using a tripod inside? I took some photos inside when I just got back into photography, but the work wasn't so good. Maybe time to go back after a little refinement.

Man that river shot is awesome, even though it is blurry. It would have turned out incredible with the tripod when looking at your other pictures. I can't blaim you for not carrying a tripod on a cold night though haha.

I thought I would pass you on what I use when I don't want to carry a tripod. I take a normal 1/4" screw, and tie a string to the screw. The string is about as tall as I am. I take a washer and tie it to the other end of the string. You can then put the screw into the camera, and then let the string danlge. Step on the washer and pull up on the camera. The tension from the string gives you a reverse-tripod, and its surprising how well it works.

I saw this a while back on digg.com

I handheld it for 3 shots at F 2.8 using a fix 35mm lens. I will be going back with a tripod to try to capture this shot again. For under the bridge I used the cement wall in front of the water for support and the lens was an 11mm at F5.6

PS IF you try to set a tripod up inside 30th Street station you will be stopped
