Hi - Thanks for the links but I have seen those already. I am actually looking for pics of it from the 60's or 70's.
But thanks again anyway...

Default Here is a pic of the Ellis Movie Theater from the mid 50's

I wonder if it still looked liked this when it closed or if any of this was left when they tore down the auditorium in 2003.

Cool photo!
I didn't realize that was a movie theatre there! I am at Frankford Terminal all the time, but I wasn't there "back in the day". The earliest memories I have of the terminal are from the 80's.

Kresegee's- I think that is where Valu-Plus is now. I remember a "5 and Dime type" store there.

I used to live 4 blocks east of there between bridge and pratt up until 1977. My mom used to walk me to the ave and we would walk past the theater. By that time it was just about closed and I remember it being trash strewn. Sometimes there was a light on in the lobby. My mom would pull me away saying "get away from there that place is filthy" and I could never understand why until someone told me later on that it was a porno house.

My sister saw planet of the apes and patton there when it was the Ellis.

Did you know that the American Pants company down the ave used to be the circle theater? My dad said that place was fantastic. I would love to see what is left of the auditorium there.

Man! I remember that entrance to the EL real well! Always smelled like urine.
