Default Permission to shoot ....... Sir !

Does anyone have any pull with DRPA/PATCO ? I keep running into road blocks every time I try to get permission to take photographs for a show. I want to document the old Franklin Square Patco station before they renovate it and reopen it but I was told it was a "security risk".

With the super-convenience now of Digital Photography, Camcorders, and such, along with it comes such "tight security" that eventually you won't be able to even USE the darned things freely for ANYthing!.... It's almost as stupid as that warning posted with Hair-Dryers "Do NOT use while sleeping"

I fully agree. They keep on pushing the security issue with photography, but they can't justify it. You can't take photos on some bridges, yet you can find info on those bridges from photos to dimensions and whatever else you'd like all over the Internet. Same with subways and with a multitude of buildings and structures throughout the country. What makes them think that taking photos of well-documented structures now is going to make this country more secure? All that's being done is to deny Americans the opportunity to take or enjoy photographs. While 9/11/2001 did awaken the nation to some things that needed to be corrected, this surely isn't one of them.
