Very nice pic of the skyline UncleC!

Today I went over to University City at lunch, and although I didn't have my camera, I had a vantage point of the city skyline which I don't normally get... and it reminded me about what was argued recently in another post... whether Philly has a definitive skyline or not...

What I realized is that the other side of the Schuylkill is actually a bit higher than Center City, and so the buildings don't actually look that big from over there.

Nonetheless, Philly most definitely has a skyline, and people who don't know the city well can say it doesn't, though clearly it does...

That is a great pic, but I'm wondering about the lack of lighting on the towers. Was this picture taken early at night, or in the summer when the towers where dark under protest?

Hey man, nice shot!

Would've been helpful if some building managers weren't making a statement but what can you do?

I didn't even realize that.

I took the picture on June 21st, so I do believe that was during the protest.

There is no argument, Philly has an incredible skyline, especially the north /south views. I would agree that the viewing the skyline from E/W gives Philly a more 2nd tier city feel. The University City view and the view that the local news stations use from (Camden) are not that impressive.

Waterfront Square will have an amazing effect on the skyline from the North view and coming over the Ben Franklin Bridge when it is complete. Cira Centre will add to the north and south views. The east west views will be enhanced with Symphony House and 1PP(if) it ever gets built.
